Stranger Things Final Episodes: Release Times, Runtimes, and Watch-Party Plans

Stranger Things ends not with one drop but three: four episodes in November 2025, three more on Christmas Day, and a separate feature-length finale on New Year's Eve. If you are planning a watch party or just want to know when to be in front of the screen, the confirmed times, runtimes, and character background help you avoid spoilers and schedule your viewing.

US release times and streaming

All episodes stream only on Netflix. Volume 1 premiered on November 26, 2025, kicking off in the fall of 1987 with Hawkins scarred by the opening of the Rifts and the group united by a single goal: to find and kill Vecna. Volume 2, containing episodes 5 through 7, was released on December 25 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, which is 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The series finale, episode 8 titled The Rightside Up, followed on December 31 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, again 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Netflix also timed limited fan screenings of the finale to that same global premiere.

Episode guide and runtimes

The first four episodes made up Volume 1. Episode 1, The Crawl, runs 1 hour 8 minutes. Episode 2, The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler, runs 54 minutes. Episode 3, The Turnbow Trap, runs 1 hour 6 minutes. Episode 4, Sorcerer, runs 1 hour 23 minutes. Together Volume 1 totals 4 hours 31 minutes. The Duffer Brothers confirmed those runtimes on Instagram and pointed out that episodes 4 and 8 are the longest, which means episodes 5, 6, and 7 each run under 1 hour 23 minutes. Episode 8, The Rightside Up, is the longest at 2 hours 5 minutes. Volume 2 consists of episode 5 Shock Jock, episode 6 Escape from Camazotz, and episode 7 The Bridge.

The Vecna and Henry Creel timeline

For the villain's backstory, Henry Creel is the human identity of Vecna and the Hawkins Lab subject known as One. Netflix's character guide describes him as born around 1947, having murdered his mother and sister in 1959, and then being experimented on by Dr. Martin Brenner before becoming Vecna inside the Upside Down. At the end of Volume 2, Vecna has gathered his kidnapped children at the Creel House in Camazotz to cast a powerful spell. You can see the complete timeline at Henry Creel complete guide.

Keeping watch parties active

The split schedule creates natural breaks. If you use the gap between Volume 2 and the finale to move around, a snowboard session can be a literal cool-down. The first-day learning path at step-by-step beginner lessons covers gear and stance, skate and glide, and other skills you can practice before your next episode. This is especially handy if your watch-party crew wants an active intermission without losing the evening.

Sharing spoiler-free reactions

After the finale, reaction threads and group chats move fast. If you want to express the ending without typing a spoiler, you can search and copy emoji by name or symbol at Emoji Directory and build custom combinations for your reaction. That keeps the group chat expressive even while viewers are still catching up.

Final check before the finale

The final episode is long enough to plan around. Since it runs 2 hours 5 minutes, start it at the exact release time if you are watching with a group online. Netflix has also organized limited fan screenings in more than 500 theaters across the US and Canada, timed to the global premiere and running through January 1, 2026. That is the most direct way to see it on a big screen.
